GuessMyTier is a free fan game about ranked Minecraft PvP. Here is who runs it, how to reach us, and how to have a clip removed.

Removing a clip or a username
Each clip is a short excerpt of a gameplay video by its creator, recorded on Medal or streamed on Twitch, and credited with a link after the reveal. Usernames and tiers are shown only after a guess.
If you made a clip, appear in one, or hold rights to it, and want it removed, or want your username taken off the site, email tom77ds at gmail dot com with the link of the clip (the original Medal or Twitch link shown after the reveal works too) or the username. We remove it as soon as we can, usually within 48 hours, without asking for a reason. A username or a creator removed this way is put on an opt-out list: a new clip of theirs is left out before it reaches the game, and we stop following that Twitch channel. On request, we also erase the username from our database, keeping only the reference of the original clips so that they are never collected again.
For any other problem with a clip, use Report a problem
under it, once its answer is revealed.
Personal data
- An account is optional. Without one, your score, streak and statistics stay in your browser (local storage); we never receive them as such (see the audience measure below).
- Audience measure: we use PostHog, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt), to learn how the game is played and improve it: pages viewed, clicks, how a clip is watched (play, pause, jumps, speed, full screen), the tier picked, the answer and the points, reports and submissions (their outcome, never the link nor the words written), sign-in and sign-out, loading times and errors of the site. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, so it needs no consent: PostHog tells visitors apart by a hash that changes every day, and your IP address is not kept. No event carries a username, a name, an email or an account identifier, and nothing ties these events to your account. We read them as aggregated figures; the session replay is off.
- If you sign in with Discord or Google, we keep your account identifier there (at both if you link them to the same account), your display name and your avatar, never your email, the provider’s tokens, your IP address or your browser. We record your guesses (clip, tier picked, answer, points, date) to show your statistics, and add once the totals your browser kept. A session is deleted once it expires, and an account without any session for three years is deleted with everything tied to it. “Delete my account” on your stats page deletes your account, its sessions and all its statistics for good.
- To limit submissions and reports, we keep a salted hash of your IP address, never the address itself, for the hour the limit lasts: it is deleted at the next submission or report after that hour, and a few hours later at the latest. A report also keeps a hash tied to that one clip, so that a player counts once per clip, and the words you may write about the problem. Both are erased 90 days after the report; the reason you picked stays.
- Moderators sign in with Discord like players: their Discord identifier tells whether they are allowed to moderate, and is kept with what they did (retiring a clip, following a channel). When a moderator deletes their account, it is replaced there by “deleted-moderator”.
- Clips show the usernames of the players filmed, after the reveal, and credit their creator. They come from public Medal clips and from the public videos (VODs) of Twitch channels. To find which channels to follow, a program looks at public Twitch streams showing ranked play and reads the streamer’s Minecraft username from the channel’s name or from its videos; for a channel it does not follow, that username is forgotten a week later. To have your username or your channel removed, see above.
- Nothing is sold. Personal data only go to the providers that run the site for us:
- Vercel (United States company, servers in Frankfurt): hosting of the site;
- Supabase (servers in Frankfurt, EU): the database;
- PostHog (servers in Frankfurt, EU): the audience measure, without cookies;
- Cloudflare R2: storage and delivery of the clip videos, so Cloudflare sees the IP address of whoever loads a video;
- Groq (United States): transcription of the sound of each clip, with the usernames of its match, so that tiers and usernames said aloud can be silenced;
- Discord and Google: sign-in, when you choose it.
